I have been in the city of Kobe for a few years now and my wife and I always enjoy exploring the city with our small electronic bikes. I used to live in Tokyo and Osaka, so we will talk about the differences in the attitudes and behaviors of the citizens in each city. We have found some local areas where we have yet to meet any foreigners. Because Kobe has both the mountains and the ocean, many people only go to the port. However, the locals know a lot about the mountainside and I will introduce you to the local mountain area during this experience.ALSO Beautiful JAPANESE GARDEN&Beautiful Shrines!! As a Japanese chef with several years of experience, I also want to introduce you to the local Kobe food, which will amaze you and make you happy. We'll also stop by local craft shops—the best places to buy gifts for your friends or family.  Let's then have local green tea together and get refreshed, although our electronic bikes should keep us from getting too tired.

Nada Gogo is a perfect place for sake production. To produce high quality sake, there are 4 important elements: 1) Hard water with high minerals (called "Miya-mizu" in Japanese), 2) High quality rice called "Yamada-Nishiki", 3) Master sake brewer (called "To-ji"), and 4) Cold wind from mountain. Especially local people called the wind "Rokko Oroshi" and, in the winter, cold "Rokko Oroshi"  wind blows from Mt. Rokko nearby Nada area. This cold wind brings the temperature down and is vital for sake brewing. Many storehouses are constructed in order to accomodate the cold wind. In this experience, you will get to visit 4 of our favorite breweries located in the Nada area of Kobe. You will taste the differences between sakes—the highest quality, unfiltered, unpasteurized, and many other seasonable sakes. This tour includes an enriching experience in sake production. You will not only get to taste a wide variety of sake but also learn to appreciate and differentiate all of them. A friendly english guide is present to answer any of your questions along the way. Come and join this thrilling experience.

Learn more about sake through home of the biggest sake production in the world; Kobe city. A guide is a friendly sake connoisseur that is very excited about taking you on this eye-opening experience. Meeting at Ishiyagawa station on the Hanshin Line (depending on booking time), we will make our way to a map near the station to familiarize ourselves with the locations of the breweries. First brewery, introduces us to the sake that has been served at the Nobel Prize banquet 5 times in the past. Founded in 1751, this 250 year-old brewery produces many variety of sake although they are considered an average size company. Walking over to our second brewery, it is one of the smallest breweries that is in Kobe. Since it's size is quite small, production quality is something to be expected when visiting this special brewery. Also founded over 250 years ago, this place produces a sake in a very traditional manner, which is rare to find in this time and age. Not too far from the second brewery, our third stop is at the world's biggest sake production brewery. We will visit it's museum, where I will explain to you how sake is made traditionally with video aid to help you understand better. Its signature brown bottle and red label is surely something that you will recognize as it is imported all over the world. Finally, we will visit, what is considered, another small brewery with something that will give you a new outlook on traditional sake. They produce very traditional sake as well as innovative sake. They come up with new creative ideas to bring out different flavors from sake. If we're lucky, we will meet this brewery's legend who's worked along side this place for 63 years in counting.
