Take an origami (Japanese traditional art of folding paper to make figures) or kusudama class during your visit to Nagoya to learn how to make simple and complex figures from washi paper. Origami is an ancient traditional Japanese art of folding paper to make interesting and beautiful figures. In this two hour class you will learn about the history and culture of this unusual art and learn how to make several different kinds of shapes out of paper.

You may choose to make the classic and famous Japanese crane, which has become one of the symbols of Japan. There is a belief that if you make 1,000 Japanese cranes within a year, your wish will come true. That's why you can see bundles of thousands of colorful cranes called "Senbazuru" hanging at temples.

However, origami is much more than that. There are thousands of figures you can make out of paper. In this class, you will also learn how to make what is called a "Kusudama" - a star-like figure made of many smaller pieces of paper.
