Explore Nikko on this 9-hour guided tour. In a small group of no more than six, visit the famed Kegon Waterfall, one of the top three waterfalls in Japan. Also stop by the Nikko Toshogu Shrine, built for one of the greatest generals in Japanese history, and Watanabe Sahei Sake Brewery. Taste the freshly brewed sake while learning about the typical Japanese beverage from the sake master.

Meet your guide at Tobu Nikko Station in Nikko at 9am and get ready to start your tour of Nikko.

At 10am, arrive at Kegon Waterfall, said to be one of Japan's three most beautiful waterfalls. Admire the views of the gushing waterfall, which stands about 328 feet (100 meters) high, and its surroundings.

At around 1:30pm, visit the Nikko Toshogu Shrine, which was built for one of the greatest generals in the Japanese history, Ieyasu Tokugawa. General Tokugawa died in early 1600's and his body was buried in Nikko, where his son, Hidetada Tokugawa built a mausoleum, completed in 1617. The mausoleum was quite small, however, so his grandson, Iemitsu Tokugawa rebuilt it in 1636. In addition to Ieyasu Tokugawa, Yoritomo Minamoto and Hideyoshi Toyotomi are enshrined here. Also, there are eight national treasures and 55 important cultural properties in Toshogu.

Just after 3pm, stop by the Watanabe Sahei Sake Brewery for a tour led by the sake master/brewer. Sake is now a world-famous Japanese beverage and it tastes even better when it's fresh from the brewery. Taste some of the freshly-made sake while learning about the brewing process at this popular local brewery. Their sake manufacturing season is between November and March and you may actually be able to experience the sake manufacturing process if you're traveling during the season.

At 4:30pm your guide will accompany you to the Nikko Station and then you will be provided with a return ticket from Nikko Station to Asakusa Station in Tokyo.
