This special full-day trip by bus with a tour conductor will provide you a visit to two beautiful flower gardens in Eastern Hokkaido, in Japan. Admire the magnificent view of Shibazakura (pink moss phlox) spreading over 100,000 square meters at Takinoue Park, and also 1.2 million tulips at Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park. Furthermore, enjoy seasonal lunch box and a local sweet "Kitadora" on the tour and make your Hokkaido trip unforgettable.
The day begins by meeting the tour conductor at Sapporo Station, then after around a 2.5-hour drive, you’ll arrive at the Kita-no-Mori Garden in Kamikawa. Here, you'll enjoy shopping for about 20 minutes. Also, you'll be able to try a local sweet, Kitadora, produced by the well‐known brand Kamikawa Meika.
Afterwards, Takinoue Park will provide an amazing view of Shibazakura (pink moss phlox), a carpet of flowers spread over 100,000 square meters. Takinoue Park is one of the biggest Shibazakura gardens in Japan and you will be able to stroll through the park for around 60 minutes at your own pace.
Then, the tour will continue at Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park, where you will have 70 minutes to admire 1.2 million tulips belonging to more than 120 varieties. The region used to export tulips in the 1950s-60s, but the cultivation declined over the years due to competition with flowers from the Netherlands: however, the citizens' deep attachment to the flowers led them to start planting them in the current location around 1962, and the park now spans over 7 hectares.
A seasonal lunch box will be provided on the bus, so you don't need to worry about lunch time as you can eat whenever you like.
Evening meal is not included. The boxed dinner "Edokko Bento" is available for an additional fee of JPY 900, and must be ordered at least 7 days before the tour date. It usually includes a Japanese-style rolled omelet, grilled fish, Chinese steamed crab dumpling, deep-fried scallop, sweet potato manju (Japanese confection) and cooked rice with scallops, but the contents may vary depending on the products' availability. Please pay the boxed dinner fee to a tour conductor in cash on the tour day.
You can also buy your dinner during the break at Kita-no-Mori Garden. The Kita-no-Mori Garden's restaurant serves warm soba or udon noodles (for an additional JPY 550〜JPY 650 fee), but please be aware that you will have only 20 minutes to have dinner. The tour conductor will inform you about this option in the morning and you will be able to order it on the tour day.
The tour ends around 9:15pm at Sapporo Station.
Enjoy the journey on a lavatory-equipped bus on selected dates (if the option is selected).
